Healing Through Neuroscience and the Embodied Self

The development of a gentle curiosity of one's internal and somatic experience becomes the basis for compassion and authentic expression. This contemplative, whole body relationship, can then expand, with clarity and grace, the way in which we connect and relate to others and the broader world. Healing through nervous system processing, parts reintegration, and insightful care of the embodied child state. Integrating Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic and Experiential modalites, through the lens of Buddhist and Feminist Theory. Treating Trauma, Complex Trauma, and Attachment Injury. Offering Supervision and Sensorimotor Consultation to individual therapists as well as groups, and Psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups. SUPERVISION FOR PRE-LICENSED THERAPISTS Clinical Supervision provided to practitioners beginning a private practice, incorporates a strong Somatic and Internal Family Systems clinical approach, combined with the development of a successful psychotherapy business, with an entrepreneurial focus. Supporting the beginning of one's clinical practice with guidance that elicits the clinician's internal wisdom and strength, coupled with the introduction of embodied, neuroscience based, informed treatment, in addition to the practical structure and building blocks of establishing and maintaining a private practice. Supervision modalities include analytic understandings, as well as experiential and present moment learning. Supervision is provided individually, as well as in small groups. SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION FOR LICENSED THERAPISTS Providing somatic and parts work focused, individual and group supervision to licensed therapists. Both individual and group models include analytic learning, as well as experiential/present moment study. Focus on case presentation, practice of parts work and somatic skills. Creating a collaborative, empowering learning and sharing environment. Supporting clinicians in the clinical development of progressive, neuroscience based modalities. SENSORIMOTOR CONSULTATION Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, Certified Sensorimotor Consultant, providing both Individual and Group Consultation to Sensorimotor students at Levels I, II, and the Certification Level, both domestically and internationally. Assistant at the Trauma, Developmental/Attachment, and Certification levels of SP training. Also offering Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Presentations to organizations and institutions. Inspired to share an analytic and experiential understanding of SP. COUPLES THERAPY Couples therapy explores authentic connection through an Internal Family Systems based modality, as well as Somatic and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy methods, focusing on a deeper connection to oneself and one's partner, developing healthy communication, functionality, sexuality, and deeper intimacy. Experiential study of relational and attachment patterning, lending to an expanded affinity to one's partner. GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY Group psychotherapy focuses on Women's Issues and uses SP, IFS, and Relational modalities to create a sense of unity, compassion, understanding, and transformation. Experiential group therapy that connects one to a deeper sense of self, authentic connection to others, and to a greater sense of humanity. ABOUT HEATHER Outdoor enthusiast, finding fulfillment and awe in nature and strength and joy in the body. Hatha yoga practitioner and instructor, balancing movement with mindfulness. Buddhist Psychology study, meditation practitioner and instructor, and mindfulness coach. And finding pleasure and calm in working with clay and pottery. Continuously learning to move through the world as an Antiracist, Queer and Nonlinear Advocate, and Feminist, in support of equality and inclusivity for all persons.
